The Joy of Competing Well

Southeastern Oklahoma State University hosted the third Invitational Tournament of the 2016-17 school year this past Saturday in Durant.  Twenty-three teams from across Oklahoma and North Texas competed in all 46 events in this year’s Science Olympiad catalog.  This is the last tournament before the State Tournament on March 25th at the University of Central Oklahoma and provided a great competition for all participants.  In addition to the venue, Southeastern faculty, staff, and students provided much of the volunteer manpower as Event Supervisors, helpers, and tournament administrators. Special thanks to Dr. Tim Smith, Chair of Chemistry, Computer, and Physical Science, Jackie Bearden, Academic Assistant for Academic Programs in the department, and University President Sean Burrage.
