The Oklahoma Science Olympiad Build Event Workshop will be held in the Nancy Randolph Davis Building  on the campus of Oklahoma State University on November 11, 2023.  This workshop is FREE and open to OKSciOly member teams.

The focus of the workshop is on the 7 so-called “Build Events” of Science Olympiad (Air Trajectory, Flight, Robot Tour, Roller Coaster, Scrambler, Tower, and Wheeled Vehicle), which require students to pre-build devices for testing during official Science Olympiad tournaments.  

This is a non-competitive event (no medals or trophies will be awarded) that allows students the opportunity to refine their device designs in consultation with OSU faculty and students.

The workshop format provides 4 sessions for each event where Head Coaches can schedule specific times for their student event teams to test pre-built devices under tournament conditions and receive feedback and constructive advice from Science Olympiad Event Supervisors and volunteer mentors from OSU faculty and students.  

Please note that school teams reserve spots on the schedule rather than individual students. Head Coaches can reserve sessions for their event teams NOW and wait to determine which students will attend. Student teams may be assigned to attend ONE event during each session and should plan to be in attendance for the entire 55 minute session. Space in each session is limited. 

The first session of each event begins at 9 AM and the last sessions end at 1 PM.  Teams should arrive no later than 8:30 AM to check-in and prepare.
