Halfway through the Tournament Season. On to Southeastern State!

Saturday’s Putnam City Invitational featured 26 teams competing in all 46 of Science Olympiad’s regular STEM events.  The uncertain weather forecast prevented a number of teams from participating, but that is the risk of January events!

Special thanks go to the faculty and staff of Putnam City High School and a special thank you to the Putnam City High School Science Olympiad team for setting up and managing events. Their Coach is Mr. Benton Shriver. The team is also an NABT BioClub and Mr. Shriver, a member of the National Association of Biology Teachers is their sponsor. There are a number of reasons why Division C teams would become BioClub Chapters and you can learn about them here. Special thanks also goes the Mr. Mike Hardestry, the PC High Activities Director and Mr. Brett Bradley, the PC High School Principal for their support.

The next tournament is February 23rd at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  This a great tournament and a wonderful college campus venue.  Coaches can select the tournament now on their Dashboard to indicate they plan to participate on https://statescioly.org/ok and will be able to sign up for events on the dashboard start at Noon on February 12th. The deadline for event signups and for roster submission is 11 AM on February 20.

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Invitational is an excellent location for Texas teams to participate in an invitational that is often much closer to home that others in their home state. Contact the Oklahoma Science Olympiad Director for more information.
