Time to Enroll Your Team in 2021 OKSciOly!

https://scilympiad.com/ok has been updated and you can NOW enroll your school and your teams in the 2021 Oklahoma Science Olympiad.

This year is certainly different, but we are going to produce the best Science Olympiad experience possible by following the Satellite SO Design as outlined on the National Science Olympiad’s New Ways To Play page.

In the most likely scenario, given the current Covid-19 situation, we will host tournaments remotely using the mini SO set of events (tests only, no hands-on events).  Two and three-person student event teams can be determined by coaches and event tests will be administered remotely through the scilympiad.com platform.  Students do not have to be in the same location at the time and can sign in remotely through their own devices. They can chat, collaborate, and answer test questions together in real time.

The rules manual for 2021 is free and will be available for download September 8.

The first virtual OKSciOly Invitational Tournament is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 21st.

Thanks go out to all of the member schools and the Coaches and students in Oklahoma who worked so hard and gave their best efforts to the Science Olympiad this year. Thanks also go to the hundreds of volunteers who served as Event Supervisors, event helpers, clerical staff, and tournament managers at the State Tournament as well as the three Invitational Tournaments hosted by Jenks High School, Putnam City High School, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  None of the tournaments can take place without these fine folks who devote their time, talent, and expertise to work together to produce these great event.

Special thanks goes to Dr. Beth Allan and Dr. Allyson Fenwick, who coordinate most of the facility and local talent logistics of the state tournament and the annual OKSciOLy training conference.    Finally, we have to thank the University of Central Oklahoma and the College of Math and Science which serves as host, and home of the Oklahoma Science Olympiad.

Make plans for next year’s OKSciOly. The tentative date for the the annual Coach’s workshop is October 5th with the State Tournament set for April 18th, 2020.
